CAD AI
The future of architecture
Design by describing.
CAD AI turns a written brief into a drawing you can work with. Describe the rooms, the site and the constraints, and it drafts plans, sections and a first structure to scale.
We build it for architects and designers who want to spend less time drafting and more time deciding.
About
We are building the drafting table that listens.
CAD AI turns a written brief into drawings you can build on. Describe the rooms, the site and the limits you work within, and it drafts plans, sections and a first structural grid, to scale and in layers your team already uses.
Our story
Most of an architect's week does not go into design. It goes into redrawing the same walls after a client changes their mind, renumbering doors, adjusting dimensions by hand and checking that the section still matches the plan. We started CAD AI because we believed that work should take minutes, not days.
The idea was simple: if a designer can explain a building to a colleague in a few sentences, a machine that understands architectural drawing should be able to sketch the first version. What began as a tool for laying out single-storey houses has grown into a system that drafts multi-storey projects, keeps every view in sync and speaks the file formats offices already rely on.
Our mission
Give every designer more time to design. We want the hours saved on drafting to go back into the parts of architecture that matter most: understanding the site, listening to the people who will use the building, and making better decisions about space, light and material.
What CAD AI does
Plan
Room layouts with real areas, walls, doors and openings placed to the millimetre. Change a room size and the walls around it follow.
Section
Sections and elevations generated from the same model, so they never disagree with the plan. Levels, heights and openings stay linked.
Structure
A first column grid and slab layout sized to your spans, ready for your engineer to review and develop.
Code checks
Corridor widths, stair rise and run, door clearances and escape distances are flagged while you draw, not after.
Schedules
Room areas, door and window lists update with every change, so your numbers are always current.
Export
Clean, layered DWG drawings and IFC models that open in the tools your consultants already use.
How it works
- Write the brief. Describe the project the way you would tell a colleague: the number of rooms, the plot size, orientation, budget and anything that must not change.
- Compare options. CAD AI draws several layouts in seconds. Each one is to scale and lists its areas, so you can compare them side by side.
- Refine by hand or by words. Drag a wall, or type "make the kitchen open to the living room". Plans, sections and schedules update together.
- Hand it over. Export drawings and models for your team, your engineer or your client, with layers named the way your office expects.
Who it is for
Architects use it to explore layouts early and skip the repetitive redrawing. Interior designers use it to test furniture and circulation in existing plans. Engineers get a clean starting grid instead of a sketch on paper. Students use it to learn how plans, sections and codes fit together.
What we believe
The designer decides
CAD AI proposes. You choose, change and approve. Nothing is final until you say it is.
Precision first
A beautiful drawing that is 5 cm off is useless on site. Every line is drawn to real dimensions.
Your work is yours
Your projects stay in your workspace. We do not use them to train models or share them with anyone.
Security and privacy
Projects are encrypted in transit and at rest. Studio workspaces add roles and permissions, so each person sees only the projects they work on. You can export or delete your data at any time.
What comes next
We are working on PDF drawing sets with title blocks, site analysis from a map location, and live collaboration so a whole team can work on one model at the same time. Tell us what you need on the feedback page.
Common questions
Which file formats can I export?
DWG for drawings and IFC for the model. PDF sheets are coming in the next release.
Do you train on my projects?
No. Your drawings stay in your workspace and are not used to train models.
Does it replace an architect?
No. It removes the repetitive drafting so you can spend your time on the design decisions.
Can my whole office use it?
Yes. Studio workspaces include shared libraries, roles and central billing.
Which building codes does it check?
It checks common rules such as corridor widths, stair dimensions and escape distances. Always confirm final compliance with your local authority.
Can I import my existing drawings?
Yes. Import a DWG plan and CAD AI reads the walls and rooms so you can keep working from there.
Does it work offline?
The desktop app lets you open and edit projects offline. Generating new layouts needs a connection.
